Tamil Party Changes Mind on Separate State

Sri Lanka — The Tamil political party, Tamil National Alliance (TNA), has dropped its demand for a Tamil nation divided from the rest of Sri Lanka. Instead TNA has said it will seek a "federal" solution that would reunite the two Tamil-majority provinces into one, and grant it a significant amount of autonomy over things like taxes, land, and law and order.
