According to this San Antonio Express-News report, witnesses saw a Mexican military helicopter cross over the Rio Grande and into Texas on Tuesday. The aircraft, believed to have a Mexican navy insignia on it, traveled at least 1 mile into U.S. territory near the town of Falcon Village.

A man wanted in the shooting deaths of eight people in Virginia has surrendered to authorities this morning (1/20) without incident. The relationship of the eight dead to the suspect is yet unknown and a motive has yet to be determined. A police official said that during the search for the suspect he did fire on a police helicopter, hitting it several times and forcing it to make an emergency landing.

As of October 1, the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station at Port Angeles, Washington has helicopter crews flying upgraded MH-65C helicopters outfitted with M-14T rifles and M-240 machine guns. The crews have been training since the spring of 2008 and are now ready to take to the skies.
According to a statement from the Coast Guard, the "aircrews who conduct this mission are hand-selected, highly trained individuals specifically chosen for their maturity, judgment and sound decision making skills."
