Lawrence D. Dietz

Lawrence Dietz, Managing Director Information Security and Legal Services, Tal Global has over 30 years of diversified military and commercial information security experience. Previously at Symantec Corporation for 6 years, held served most recently as Sr Director of Government Solutions, other roles included Corporate Strategist, Director of Enterprise Marketing for North America, and Director of Market Intelligence, Analyst and Government Relations. A well respected analyst, he held key analyst roles with Zona Research and Giga Information Group. Mr. Dietz has been an analyst of the market for information security products and services since 1978. He has published a wide array of articles and reports and is a sought after speaker.

A licensed attorney in California and a recognized authority in compliance, Dietz has lectured internationally on SOX and other critical legal issues related to the Internet and Electronic Commerce. He retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, where assignments include a variety of Intelligence and PSYOP positions. He holds a BS and BA from Northeastern University, MBA from Babson College, JD from Suffolk University, LLM in European Law from Leicester University, United Kingdom and Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.

Homeland Security

Tim Daniel

Tim was the Director of Homeland Security, a cabinet level position, for the State of Missouri from September 2001 to December 2004. Prior to that he served in the United States Army retiring as a colonel. Tim was selected by the Army to command units to brigade level, and was responsible for strategic and transformation planning in the Army’s Office of Strategic Plans and Policy in the Pentagon. He worked closely with the Israeli, French and Turkish militaries while assigned in these countries.


Carl R. Hospedales

Carl's career spans 26 years in the Military, Aviation, and Law Enforcement Specialist group of occupations. This includes service in the British Armed Forces (1979 - 2001) and currently sits on the Michigan Tactical Officers Association Executive Board as Training Director.

Throughout his career, Carl has placed a special focus on anti-terrorism procedures, training and operations. He has operated in important theatres like, Europe, Balkans, the Middle and Far East, the United States, and Canada.

Carl is a member of the International Counter Terrorism Officers Association, International Association for Counter Terrorism & Security Professionals, International Law Enforcement Educators & Trainers, National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, Canadian General Standard Board on Personal Body Armour Committee, International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, and he is an Associate Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Maritime Security

Micah W. Hoevelman

Micah is the founder and President of Global Protection Group, Inc. His company provides a variety of maritime security and protection services and training. After leaving the U.S. Marine Corps in 1997, he went into the private security industry where he gained a great deal of experience in the field by working in many different aspects of security. In 2000, Micah left the private sector and joined the U.S. Coast Guard. While in the Coast Guard, he was assigned to the Regional Tactical Counter-Narcotics Team, (TACLET-North). After September 11th, 2001, he was selected to be part of the inaugural crew for the newly developed Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Unit, the Maritime Safety and Security Teams, (MSST). Before leaving the Coast Guard in 2004 to form Global Protection Group, Inc., he was selected to assist in the development of the newly formed U.S. Department of Homeland Security's first Tier 1, Counter-Terrorism Capability (SRT-1). While with the SRT, he was assigned to one of the units Direct Action Teams. Micah is a documented subject matter expert in Maritime Interdiction Operations, Small Unit Tactics, Protective Service Detail Operations, and Physical Security Protocols.

Kevin Gors

A unique military background and over 30 years of Federal, State, Public and Private Law Enforcement experience performed in a real world environment gives Kevin insight few others have. Kevin draws his experience providing executive protection for a veritable 'Who's Who' list of clients. He has participated in operations performed in hostile environments worldwide as a member of an elite military unit, as a police officer in the ethnically and culturally diverse city of Oakland, CA, and as a principal of Seal-Mar Protection Services, Inc.
